To mark the Summer Solstice, submissions opened on 21st December at 8.20pm

I am inviting lens-based artists from or based in Lutruwita / Tasmania to respond to the exhibition title, Requiem for the River

I encourage any and all interpretations of this theme and can include both still and moving image works, collaborations are welcome. Single pieces or series will all be considered.

Requiem for the River is a lens-based group exhibition responding to the Timtumili Minanya / River Derwent and Lutruwita / Tasmania’s waterways. Held at PIER+GALLERY, floating on the river at Brooke Street Pier, it will explore water, time, and memory through photography, cinematography, and fine art. Embracing celestial alignments and seasonal shifts, the exhibition offers both a lament and a reverence for the river’s past, present, and uncertain future.

A group of artists will be selected to exhibit at PIER+GALLERY in Brooke Street Pier with the exhibition opening on Sunday 1st June 2025 and running until Sunday 31st August, across the whole season of Winter

Alongside this there will be a series of talks, workshops and special events all connected to the artists selected and to the theme itself

I am currently seeking funding to support any artist selected, more details to come

Fill out some the information below and I will be in touch after the selections have been made

Any questions, please email hello@pier.gallery

I look forward to seeing your work
